Job summary

A-Lodge Boulder is seeking a Front Desk Associate to be the face of our mountain-based lodge in Boulder, CO. This role supports guest experiences from check-in to local recommendations, in a dynamic, outdoorsy environment.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year in hospitality, excels at communication, and enjoys helping guests explore Boulder’s trails and attractions. Part-time or full-time, on-site with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of customer service in hospitality or service industry.
  • Organized, proactive, comfortable juggling multiple projects.
  • Strong communicator with a people-first mindset.
  • Bonus points if you love outdoors, climbing, or Boulder culture.
  • TIPS certification in Colorado is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first 'Hello': welcome guests, manage check-ins/outs with a smile.
  • Act as a Local Guide: recommend hikes, biking routes, climbs, and eateries.
  • Manage the Lobby Bar: serve local brews, coffee, light snacks, and keep lounge inviting.
  • Handle inquiries with empathy to ensure a seamless stay.
  • Master the PMS: assist reservations, room assignments, and guest billing.

Front Desk Associate | A-Lodge Boulder

Part-Time or Full-Time | On-Site at A-Lodge Boulder

Location: Boulder, CO

Schedule: Part-Time or Full-Time (24-48hrs per week)

The Boulder Adventure Lodge is looking for a rockstar Front Desk Associate to join the team!

We are a small hotel and hostel in Boulder Canyon that focuses on Boulder’s amazing adventure sports lifestyle! We are a fun and dynamic company that puts an emphasis on sharing our passion for the outdoors with our guests and contributing positively to the Boulder community.

Applicants must have a great attitude, tireless work ethic, and passion for the hospitality industry. Experience in hotels or restaurants is preferable. Stoke for outdoor adventure is a plus!

Role Overview

Are you the kind of person who’s as comfortable discussing the best local climbing routes as you are managing a check-in? A-Lodge Boulder is looking for an energetic, hospitality-minded Front Desk Associate to be the face of our mountain-based community!

In this role, you aren’t just “checking people in”—you are the curator of the guest experience. From pouring a local craft brew at our bar to helping a traveler find the perfect trailhead, you’ll be the heartbeat of our lodge. If you thrive in an upbeat, outdoor-focused environment and love the idea of connecting people with the best of Boulder, we want to meet you.

General Responsibilities

The Guest Experience & Hospitality

  • Be the First “Hello”: Provide a warm, authentic welcome to guests, managing check-ins and check-outs with efficiency and a smile.
  • Act as a Local Guide: Offer expert-level recommendations on local hiking trails, mountain biking routes, climbing spots, and Boulder’s best hidden-gem restaurants.
  • Manage the Lobby Bar: Prepare and serve local craft beers, coffee, and light snacks while maintaining a clean and inviting lounge atmosphere.
  • Solve Problems on the Fly: Address guest requests or concerns with empathy and a “can-do” attitude to ensure every stay is seamless.

Operations & Administration

  • Master the System: Use our Property Management System (PMS) to handle reservations, room assignments, and guest billing accurately.
  • Coordinate with the Crew: Work closely with the housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure rooms are adventure-ready and up to our high standards.
  • Handle Communications: Manage incoming phone calls, emails and CRM inboxes, providing helpful information about our property, amenities, and event spaces.
  • Maintain the “Vibe”: Keep the lobby, retail nook, and communal areas tidy, organized, and stocked throughout your shift.

Community & Sales

  • Promote the A-Lodge Lifestyle: Educate guests on our unique offerings, from gear rentals and van camping spots to upcoming community events and live music.
  • Support Retail: Assist guests with merchandise and gear rental selections, ensuring all waivers and payments are processed correctly.
Who You Are
  • You have at least 1 year of customer service in a hospitality or service industry environment
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple projects
  • Proven track record of initiative, managing time and projects effectively
  • Strong communicator with a people-first mindset
  • Team oriented worker who can ask for support and support when needed
  • Comfortable following and enforcing company policies
  • Well versed in local attractions, outdoor activities and open ended questions
  • Self-starter with a keen eye for detail, organization and has a knack for cleaning
  • Bonus points if you love the outdoors, climbing, skiing, or Boulder culture
  • Extra bonus points if you’re already TIPS certified in Colorado

Seasonal staff and anyone working less than 20hrs/wk are eligible for discounts at local gear stores.

We believe in an operational style where there is no such thing as “that’s not my job.” We’re making changes to the property and our business daily, so we are looking for people who are flexible and excited to take on new challenges. Being flexible to work weekends is required.

Compensation

Based on comparable Front Desk roles in the greater Boulder, CO market and adjusted for a small, family-owned lodge:

  • Pay: $18-20/hr DOE
  • Bar Service Tips
  • Performance + Annual Bonuses

Final compensation will depend on experience, availability, and scope of responsibilities.
