Overview

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for assisting guests with check-in and check-out, answering and processing all phone calls, and handling all special requests for services or information, in accordance with standard policies and procedures.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests regardless of busyness or time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel features, services, hours, room rates, packages, promotions, house count, arrivals/departures, and group activities.
  • Manage assigned bank and ensure accuracy of monies.
  • Keep bank secure at all times.
  • Answer department phones within 3 rings with proper etiquette.
  • Process guest check-ins and verify registration details.
  • Obtain backup payment information, input into system, and handle cash as needed.
  • Coordinate with Bell Person for guest escort and luggage transport.
  • Handle overbooked or walk-in guests.
  • Accept wake-up call requests and manage guest faxes.
  • Communicate guest requests and information to relevant departments.
  • Resolve discrepancies with housekeeping and report issues to management.
  • Process check-outs, adjustment vouchers, paid-outs, and miscellaneous charges.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in a similar hotel role.
  • Basic computer skills required.
