Kansas State University is seeking a Cook to support the Residence Hall foodservice at the on-site location in Manhattan, KS. The role involves preparing from-scratch entrees, coordinating batch cooking, and maintaining safe, sanitary kitchens.

A 40-hour week includes one weekend day with a scheduled day off around that weekend; benefits are offered. Minimum qualifications require one year of relevant experience in commercial/institutional cooking.

Qualifications

• Requires one year of relevant experience in commercial/institutional cooking.
• Preferred qualifications include ability to weigh and measure ingredients accurately, use and care for equipment, handle food safely, and knowledge of large-scale food preparation and safety procedures.

Responsabilités

• Prepare multi-step, complex entrees and side dishes from scratch using standardized menus and recipes.
• Assist in coordinating food production using batch cooking methods.
• Operate, clean, and maintain equipment and work areas to meet sanitation standards.
• Evaluate HACCP and food safety activities with teams to ensure proper handling and sanitation.
