Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Production Cook at Kansas State University with varied shifts. You will prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold items for meals and events, maintaining food safety and high-quality standards in a fast-paced kitchen.

You will work closely with the team to ensure accurate portions, clean stations, and efficient service while complying with Sodexo’s culinary standards. This role supports dining operations across meal periods.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current standards and guidelines to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow recipes and directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, and serving foods.
• Estimate food requirements and manage production accordingly.
• Significant walking or other mobility.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
• Lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Attend shifts on time and perform other duties as needed.
