Under the general supervision of the Social Work & Support Services Coordinator, the Friendly Visitor Program Coordinator interviews, selects, trains, and monitors volunteers; assesses potential participants appropriateness for the program, and matches and monitors all volunteer matches. In addition, this position executes the OAA Title IIIB Telephone and Visitation program and tracks grant data regarding client interactions. The Friendly Visitor Program Coordinator promotes senior services and provides information to seniors about issues concerning their wellbeing, applicable program and benefits and serves as a Senior Health Insurance Counselor of Kansas (SHICK) to provide counseling during Medicare open enrollment.
Organizes work, sets priorities, meets critical deadlines and follows up assignments with minimum direction. Possesses attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills. Collects data, maintains records and navigates the agencys reporting system. Ability to provide information and assistance in print, in person and by phone. Ability to answer questions and complete applications and forms to assist seniors. Ability to relate to and communicate with older adults who are dependent on community services to remain in their own homes.
