Job summary

Kroger at 423 Main St, Larned, KS is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to greet customers, process transactions quickly, and help maintain a clean, safe shopping environment. You will handle cash, checks, cards, and loyalty offers following store procedures.

The role requires basic math, strong communication, and the ability to stay calm in a fast-paced setting while upholding company values of respect, integrity and customer care. Prior cashier experience is a plus, but training is provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in a visible presence at the check lane.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle cash, checks, credit and debit payments, and loyalty offers.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and prevent loss.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; adhere to food safety regulations.
• Enforce safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions; notify management.
• Maintain equipment and physical environment; assist customers with product questions.
