Job summary

Plum Market is seeking a friendly Cashier to provide exceptional guest service at the front end. You will scan items, process payments, apply coupons, and help create a smooth, efficient checkout experience.

Ideal candidates bring cashier or retail experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to stand for long periods. The role offers flexible scheduling and comprehensive benefits within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier or retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to accurately process transactions, coupons, and payments.
• Comfort using POS systems (training provided).
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Stand/walk up to 4 hours; lift up to 25 lbs; push/pull up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate a cash register to scan and ring up Guest purchases.
• Process cash, credit, debit, gift card, and coupon transactions accurately.
• Greet Guests warmly and assist with product or pricing questions.
• Issue receipts and ensure each Guest leaves with a positive experience.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free checkout station.
• Assist with bagging purchases and offer carry-out help if needed.
• Support stocking and cleaning tasks at the Front End when not assisting Guests.
• Follow all Plum Market policies, procedures, and safety standards.
