Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care focused on patient health.
• Perform charting and examinations as part of patient assessment.
• Develop dental hygiene treatment plans in coordination with a dentist.
• Complete debridement, prophylaxis, and nonsurgical periodontal therapy; place subgingival medicaments.
• Provide nutritional counseling.
• Administer nitrous oxide analgesia and monitor patients.
• Apply topical medications including fluoride varnishes and desensitizing agents.
