Qualifications

Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental skills and techniques and advanced techniques.
Ability to teach, enforce, advocate for, and model appropriate behavior and sportsmanship.
Ability to follow NFHS/CIF Coaches Codes of Conduct.
Prior experience in the sport; youth experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Understand that academics are priority.
Monitor student-athletes' academic performance.
Develop team rules and communicate them to team and parents.
Provide schedules for practices, tournaments and games.
Communicate schedule changes promptly.
Be on time and prepared for practices and games.
Maintain CPR/First Aid certificates and TB clearance.
Encourage student-athletes to do their best.
Apply school and team rules equally.
Be professional in actions and words.
Create a positive team environment.
Communicate players' roles to individuals and parents.
Explain all NFHS, CIF, SDUHSD, Conference, and team rules to players and parents.
Return parent calls/emails promptly.
Notify injuries to players promptly without trainer.
Explain vacation/absence policy.
Allow absences for tests or tutoring.
