Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Student Intern for its Freshman Experience Program, designed to give ambitious freshmen early exposure to the insurance industry. You’ll explore fields such as actuarial science, claims, finance, technology and data, investment management, marketing, operations, product, risk and underwriting while building your professional brand.

This is a paid, virtual three-hour program scheduled for the second week of January 2027.

Qualifications

• Freshman level class standing (Anticipated May 2030 graduate)
• Interest in fields: Actuarial Science, Claims, Finance, Technology and Data, Investment Management, Marketing, Operations, Product, Risk Management, Underwriting and other insurance related careers
• History of strong academic performance
• Ability to commit to a 3-hour virtual program. Event second week of January 2027.

• Freshman level class standing (Anticipated May 2030 graduate)
• Interest in any of the following career fields: Actuarial Science, Claims, Finance, Technology and Data, Investment Management, Marketing, Operations, Product, Risk Management, Underwriting and other insurance related careers
• History of strong academic performance
• Ability to commit to a 3-hour virtual program. Event to take place the second week of January 2027. Event date subject to change.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
