Job summary

FreshDirect is seeking an Outbound Professional (Personal Shopper) to pick, pack and scan items, ensuring safe packaging for delivery. No prior experience is required, and the role supports production and accuracy targets in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Shifts may be overnight or early morning with 32–38 degree climate exposure; expect standing/walking long hours and adherence to safety protocols. FreshDirect offers benefits and growth within a team‑driven culture.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays.
• Willing to start overnight or early morning hours (start times vary by department).
• Must be comfortable in a warehouse/production environment.
• Ability to meet production and accuracy standards in a fast-paced work environment.
• Basic reading and math skills.
• Able to stand and walk for long period of times.
• Ability to push, pull, squat, twist, kneel, reach, turn and bend.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs intermittently during a typical work shift.
• Comfortable and able to work an 8-12hr shift (hours per day are based on business need).
• Must be able to stand for the majority of your shift.
• Ability to work in a climate around 32 to 38 degrees.
• Required to wear oil and slip-resistant shoes.
• Must embody and demonstrate company values and culture.

• Audit product for quality.
• Maintain a team player mentality by assisting others when the need arises.
• In a work day: standing/walking 6-10 hours or more.
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
• Work requires bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
• Required to wear oil and slip-resistant shoes.
• Constant exposure to temperatures: -10 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing, refrigerators).

• Processing (picking + scanning + packing)
• Safe Food Practices specific to department
• Assist in housekeeping of the department
• Maintain excellent safety, quality, cleanliness, and productivity standards within the distribution warehouse
• Audit product for quality
• Maintain a team player mentality by assisting others when the need arises
• In a work day: standing/walking 6-10 hours or more
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
• Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
• Required to wear oil and slip-resistant shoes
• Constant exposure to temperatures: <-10 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators)

Note: The pay rate for this role is $17.00 per hour.
