Job summary

ShopRite of Glassboro is seeking a Seafood Clerk to maintain the Seafood Department and prepare fresh and frozen seafood to standards. You will greet customers, follow procedures for receiving, labeling, rotating, and stocking products, and ensure product quality and safety.

You must handle varied seafood items, assist customers, keep the area clean, and work a schedule that may include overtime. This role requires physical stamina and adherence to sanitation and safety rules.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products including shellfish, spices and powered substances without negative allergic consequences.
• Ability to tolerate dust and chemical agents during routine housekeeping duties.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Greet Customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Follow approved procedures for receiving, coding, dating, preparing, storing, price-marking, scaling, and restocking products.
• Be knowledgeable about seafood varieties and related merchandise.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize surfaces, utensils and equipment per standards.
• Stand at workstation for full shifts and operate equipment safely.
• Participate in training programs and adhere to safety policies.
