Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking a Produce Clerk to maintain an inviting, fresh produce department and deliver friendly, helpful service to customers. You will rotate product, check deliveries, and assist shoppers throughout each shift.

The role requires staying active, following safety and sanitation standards, and working as part of a team to ensure a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Qualifications

• Less than high school diploma or equivalent experience accepted.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; we provide training.
• Ability to learn and follow safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a smile and provide friendly assistance.
• Review merchandise for freshness and rotate stock to maintain quality.
• Ensure adequate product supply and anticipate daily needs for the department.
• Check in product, store it properly, and review invoices as needed.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish products as necessary.
• Practice proper sanitation and keep work area clean and safe.
• Remove trash promptly and assist with department upkeep.
• Order products and supplies and price items for customers as needed.
• Answer the phone promptly and deliver helpful service to callers.
• Follow Hy-Vee's dress code and all department guidelines.
• Assist with other tasks or special projects as they arise.
