Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking a Produce Clerk in the Produce department. You will keep the department stocked, fresh, and inviting while delivering friendly service that encourages repeat visits.

The role emphasizes active customer engagement, accurate product rotation, and adherence to sanitation standards. The position requires physical stamina to stand/walk through shifts and basic math for pricing and inventory.

Qualifications

• No HS diploma required; Hy-Vee provides training.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; training provided.
• Ability to stand/walk for long shifts.
• Basic math and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a smile and assist with needs.
• Review merchandise freshness and rotate stock to maintain quality.
• Ensure adequate product supply and maintain a production list for the department.
• Check in product, price products, and review invoices as needed.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish products as necessary.
• Practice proper sanitation and keep the area clean and safe at all times.
• Remove trash and assist with department upkeep.
• Order product and supplies and price products for customers as needed.
• Answer the phone promptly and provide friendly service to customers.
• Follow Hy-Vee dress code and department guidelines.
• Assist with other tasks or projects as needed.
