Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Produce Department Manager in a fast-paced grocery setting. You will oversee daily produce operations, ensure top-notch freshness and presentation, and drive sales through effective merchandising and strong inventory controls.

You will lead a team, train associates, and maintain high standards of food safety and customer service while delivering market-fresh produce customers can see, feel, and trust every day.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Produce Department with a focus on freshness, quality, and customer service.
• Deliver knowledgeable, friendly service and ensure associates demonstrate strong product knowledge.
• Execute corporate merchandising programs, planograms, seasonal sets, and promotional displays.
• Maintain full, fresh, clean, and visually appealing produce displays at all times.
• Manage product rotation, remove damaged or unsellable items, and maintain freshness standards.
• Order, receive, inspect, and store product following food safety and rotation guidelines.
• Manage shrink through inventory controls, root‑cause identification, and waste‑reduction strategies.
• Build and manage labor schedules aligned with business needs.
• Train, coach, and develop produce associates while maintaining a positive team environment.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and company operational standards.
