Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Perishable Department associate in Kings Mountain, NC. You will provide quality customer service, maintain product levels, and ensure proper handling of meat, dairy and other perishables while following safety and company guidelines.

The role emphasizes fast, friendly service, teamwork, and adherence to standard practices with opportunities to complete CBT and additional training as part of ongoing development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly, and accurate service.
• Provide courteous and helpful service to other associates.
• Understand and use store tools such as ACIS and CAO.
• Receive deliveries, code, rotate and stock appropriately.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation and displaying of merchandise complies with policies.
• Maintain product levels in Perishable Department (meat, lunchmeat, dairy, ice cream).
• Process beef and grind as directed from production tools.
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat as needed.
• Clean and sanitize the department and maintain standards.
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines.
• Wear Food Lion uniform and name badge; maintain neat appearance.
• Complete CBT and training packets.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
