Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Perishable Representative to maintain a well-stocked, clean department and to deliver superior customer service daily. You will prepare, package, and merchandise fresh items, rotate stock, and ensure food safety standards are met across various departments including Aguas, Floral, Market, Produce, and Seafood.

The role requires strong customer service, product knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service.
• Takes orders by phone or in person.
• Answers questions and assists with product selections.
• Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product.
• Slices, packages, labels, and rotates products.
• Scans items on Telxon for production.
• Assists in technical areas as needed.
• Merchandises products effectively.
• Uses suggestive selling techniques to increase sales.
• Makes announcements to promote freshly produced items.
• Cleans and sanitizes display cases and maintains equipment.
• Complies with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Adheres to SOPs and store procedures.
• For Aguas: peels, cuts, chops fresh fruits and vegetables.
• For Floral: designs, merchandises fresh products, seasonal display.
• For Market: prepares meat, ensures rotation, weighs and bags.
• For Produce: stocks, rotates, and shares product knowledge.
• For Seafood: knows fish and shellfish; weighs and bags selections.
