Job summary

Price Rite is seeking a part-time Perishable Clerk to maintain presentation and cleanliness while pricing, stocking, and rotating merchandise in any department. You will provide friendly checkout service, scan products, collect payment, and ensure accurate pricing with proper change when needed.

The role requires reading and speaking English, basic math, the ability to stand for long periods, and adherence to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Ability to make change with US currency.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil code regulations.
• Operate equipment as required by department, e.g. case cutter and U-Boats.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally 75 lbs.
• Provide customers with superior service.
• Maintain neat, well-groomed appearance and follow dress code policies.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of fresh, dried and/or processed products; no negative allergic consequences.
• Tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine duties.
• Work in varying temperatures from cold to hot.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Climb a ladder to retrieve items from overhead racking and storage areas.
• Meet all work schedules and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Maintain sanitation and QA standards including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, utensils and equipment.
• Operate baler, remove debris and keep floor clear.
• Check products received against invoice.
• Use slicing machine and related equipment where applicable.
• Prepare and replenish product for sale in any department.
• Follow safe methods for performing duties and observe safeguards.
• Comply with store rules, safety requirements and regulations.
• Dress according to policy (white shirt, black pants, apron, name badge).
• Provide accurate checkout service, scan items, collect payment and give correct change.
• Restock and rotate products and ensure quality.
