Price Rite of South New Bedford in NEW BEDFORD, MA is seeking a Part Time Perishable Clerk to maintain department presentation, price, stock and rotate merchandise. You will provide friendly checkout service and accurate payments in a fast-paced grocery setting.

The role requires stamina, basic math, and strong customer service with adherence to safety and sanitation standards. Training and flexible scheduling are provided to support team success.

Qualifications

• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Ability to make change with all denominations of American currency.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to adhere to health and civil code regulations.
• Ability to operate equipment as required by department, e.g. slicer and U-Boats.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Provide superior customer service.
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance and observe dress code policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of presentation and cleanliness while pricing, stocking and rotating merchandise.
• Provide customers with accurate, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
• Scan items, collect payment, and provide correct change.
• Restock and price-mark products in assigned departments.
• Adhere to all safety, QA, and company policies in daily tasks.
• Ensure proper handling of damaged or return-to-stock items per policy.
• Operate cash register and follow cash handling procedures.
