This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and high sanitation expectations within the perishable department. Ideal candidates have 18+ years of age, a high school diploma, and basic math skills, with preference given to those with grocery perishable or meat-wrapping experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in grocery perishable department or meat wrapping preferred.
• Must read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Learns to package authorized beef, pork and poultry items according to company policies and procedures.
• Wraps, weighs and prices cuts of meat.
• Labels packages according to COOL, USDA and company standards.
• Ensures displays and case signs are updated appropriately, and that meat is merchandised and presented to maximize sales.
• May assist with product ordering.
• Maintains proper date rotation for dated and undated products per company policy.
• Prepares and places meat cuts and products in display counter according to policy so they appear attractive to customers.
• Receives, inspects, and stores meat to maintain cold chain and quality.
• Completes sanitation of meat cases and rooms to maintain high standards.
• Follows all company policies including COOL, Food Safety, Sanitation, and inventory processes.
