Job summary

Eataly North America in Santa Clara, CA seeks a Senior Fresh Market Manager to oversee Cheese & Salumi and Fish & Meat. You will lead the fresh department teams, optimize profitability, and ensure outstanding guest experiences.

You will collaborate with culinary teams, manage inventories, and drive sales through strategic purchasing and display optimization. Knowledge of Italian fresh products is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 4+ years of retail management in a high-volume environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communications.
• Business management and financial analysis skills.
• Experience purchasing and managing inventory.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Italian fresh products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and directs the store’s fresh departments to maximize profitability while upholding the company’s standards and guest experience.
• Manages the fresh counter leaders: hires, schedules, trains, motivates, payroll, evaluations and terminations.
• Ensures counters and displays are visually appealing and merchandized effectively.
• Analyzes financial data and develops strategies to drive sales and profitability.
• Works with culinary/kitchen teams to meet store needs for retail, quick service and restaurants.
• Requisitions and purchases food, beverage, supplies and equipment to maximize profit and reduce waste.
• Supervises cleaning/maintenance per health standards and arranges repairs/services as needed.
• Documents, investigates, escalates and resolves incidents involving employees or guests.
• Performs other duties as required.

Eataly’s bustling marketplaces feature a rich variety of unique, high-quality Italian and local products. The Fresh Market Manager oversees the fresh departments: Cheese & Salumi and Fish & Meat. Oversees the fresh counter managers, leads and staff. Reports directly to the Manager, Store Operations.

• Organizes and directs the store’s fresh departments to maximize profitability while upholding the company’s mission, values, quality and guest experience standards and policies
• Manages the fresh counter leaders: hires, schedules, trains, motivates, submits payroll, evaluates, terminates
• Ensures counters and displays are visually appealing and merchandized effectively
• Analyzes financial data and develops strategies to drive sales and increase profitability and efficiencies
• Works closely with the culinary and kitchen team to ensure that production consistently meets the store’s needs for retail, quick service and restaurants
• Requisitions and purchases food, beverage, supplies and equipment to maximize profit and reduce waste
• Supervises cleaning and maintenance of equipment and counters according to Department of Health standards, and arranges repairs, contracts and other services when needed
• Documents, investigates, escalates and resolves employee and guest incidents
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 4+ years of retail management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Business management and financial analysis skills
• Experience purchasing and managing inventory
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Italian fresh products preferred

The annual salary for this role ranges from $75,000k-85,000k.
