Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. is hiring a Deli Clerk to assist customers, prepare fresh meals, and maintain a clean, well-presented deli area. You will operate slicers and other deli equipment, handle special orders, and help keep displays stocked.

The role requires reliability, good communication, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays. A high school diploma or equivalent and prior food service experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related field; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Have and show an outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Be able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs. and stand up to 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping and operate deli equipment safely.
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory requirements; obtain Food Handlers permit.
• Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer).
• Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assisting customers in making healthy food choices by preparing and serving fresh meals.
• Provide high level of customer service and ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and displayed.
• Maintain cleanliness of the deli area and equipment.
• Fill, rotate, and display products; prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate deli equipment following company standards and procedures.
• Maintain safe, sanitary deli area and equipment; clean shelves, floors, and surfaces.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy and quality.
