Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. is seeking a Deli Clerk to join our busy deli team in a fast-paced grocery environment. You will help customers choose foods, prepare fresh meals, and maintain appealing deli displays.

The role requires strong customer service, reliability, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. You’ll operate deli equipment, handle special orders, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while providing exceptional product presentation.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. and stand up to 8 hours per shift.
• Maintain clean, safe deli area and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting healthy foods and preparing fresh meals.
• Provide high-quality customer service and ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged, labeled, and displayed.
• Fill, rotate, and maintain deli displays and products.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate deli equipment safely (slicer, ovens, microwaves) and maintain equipment in good condition.
• Keep deli area clean, sanitary, and organized; clean shelves and floors.
• Receive, inspect, and log deliveries for quality, temperature, and accuracy.
