Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is hiring a Deli Clerk in a fast-paced deli department. You will assist customers, prepare fresh meals, and maintain product displays while ensuring a clean, safe workspace.

The role requires energy, reliability, and excellent communication to deliver quality service in a grocery setting. Responsibilities include operating deli equipment, handling orders, and supporting team food safety practices across shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent; or an acceptable education/experience combination.
• Dependable and reliable with a positive attitude.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor and ability to interact with customers.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong communication and teamwork; ability to take direction.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Lift up to 70 lbs. for up to 4 hours; stand up to 8 hours per shift.
• Maintain a clean, safe deli area and operate slicers and other equipment safely.
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory requirements including Food Handlers permit.
• Work in cooler and freezer environments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in choosing healthy options and prepare fresh and easy meals.
• Provide high level of customer service and ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented.
• Fill, rotate, and display products; prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate deli equipment safely and maintain cleanliness of the deli area.
• Receive and log products for accuracy and quality, following company standards.
