Job description

Big Language Solutions is hiring hourly interpreters to provide interpreting services via telephone to our customers and their clients.

We serve clients across the country and support over 240 languages and dialects. Our interpreters are valued for their expertise, job satisfaction, and their ability to support their families.

Essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

1. Facilitate understanding in communication by faithfully interpreting into the target language, ensuring accuracy without adding, omitting, or changing content.
2. Maintain impartiality and show no bias or preference toward either party during interpretation.
3. Interpret in the first form at all times, clarify when necessary, and uphold confidentiality and the code of ethics for interpreters.
4. Be aware of cultural differences, including your own and those encountered during duties, explaining them when appropriate.
5. Continuously improve interpreting skills and ethical performance, demonstrating high customer service standards.

Qualifications required:

• Fluency in French.
• Ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
• Must be located in Houston, Texas, 77056 area.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, memos, and short correspondence; capable of writing simple correspondence; effective in presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings.

• Pay Range: $18-$30 hourly (subject to experience, training, education, and location; some situations may vary outside this range)
