Job summary

Fresno City College is seeking a part-time French instructor to teach courses across face-to-face, online and hybrid formats. The instructor will deliver engaging, equity-minded instruction to a diverse student body and collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success.

The position requires Master’s in French or equivalent qualifications; equity-focused pedagogy and ability to adapt to various teaching formats are essential. This is a pool posting with vacancies as they arise.

Qualifications

• All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students and equity-minded practice.
• Master’s in French; or Bachelor’s in French and Master’s in another language/linguistics; or a CCC Credential; or equivalency.
• Desirable qualifications include experience with diversity, equity and inclusion, and working with diverse student populations.
• Willingness to examine and improve instructional practices to support racially minoritized students.

Responsibilities

• Teach a part-time schedule of French courses as assigned.
• Use a range of pedagogies and technology for face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff.
• Follow approved curriculum outlines and course objectives.
• Evaluate student progress through tests, assignments and exams.
• Provide course syllabi and maintain classroom records.
• Submit grading and evaluation reports timely.
• Teach in varied settings and duties as assigned.
