Job summary

The First Church of Christ, Scientist invites applications for the French Herald Issue Developer/Staff Editor role based in Boston. You will plan and produce the monthly Herald magazine in French and may serve as Staff Editor for French submissions, coordinating translation workflows with authors and verifiers.

You will manage translation teams, ensure accurate bilingual edits, and keep deadlines for weekly content and the monthly magazine, aligning with editorial standards and audience needs.

Qualifications

• Fluency in French is required; familiarity with Herald fields.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 3–7 years of related work.
• Strong editing and project management skills.
• Experience with content management systems and translation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Determines print and web content approved by the Associate Editor supervising the Herald.
• Coordinates weekly online content and a monthly magazine in French.
• Manages translation team for all translations and copyedits in French.
• Reviews and approves final copy in French and translates back to English as needed.
• Ensures deadlines are met for all content across formats.
