Norfolk Southern Corporation (NYSE: NSC) is seeking a Train Conductor to safely assemble trains, couple railcars, and move freight while complying with safety rules. Trainees receive on-the-job training, work on the extra board initially, and bid for regular assignments as they gain seniority.

The role involves 24/7 availability and potential overtime in a union environment. You will participate in comprehensive training lasting about 20 weeks, with locations including the NS Training Center,

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Available to report within 90 minutes.
• Clean driving record in past 36 months (no DUI-related suspensions).
• Must pass FRA drug and alcohol screening.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsabilités

• Build and inspect trains, railcars, and equipment for safe operation.
• Operate remote control locomotives and perform coupling, drawbar alignment, hand brakes, and railcar riding.
• Communicate effectively with crews, dispatchers, and yard controllers.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with FRA and company safety regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
