Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Southern Pines, NC is seeking a Material Handler to ensure timely shipping of products. Under general supervision, you will follow packing procedures, review shipments, and prepare documents to guarantee accuracy and on-time delivery.

This onsite role requires at least 6 months of manufacturing experience, the ability to lift up to 35 pounds, and occasional overtime. You will utilize the MRP and TMS systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep orders moving

Job Overview

The MaterialHandlerunder general supervision, works to ensure we are continually shipping the right products to customers in a timely manner. This job’s main responsibility will be for Freight Shipments but occasional small parcel and other work as required.

Responsibilities

• Follow company packing procedures and standards
• Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy, reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
• Confirms shipping details or special instructions
• Collects and properly disposes of cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Work at different stations as needed
• Inspect, weigh, and package products
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Typical work activities are sealing boxes and placing labels on packages
• Assemble Skids and use TMS system to determine LTL Carrier
• Ability to Use MRP system
• Communicate with Cross functional Areas in and out of the plant
• Occasional Cycle Counting
• Place items in various containers, such as boxes and bags.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6+ months of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to Work overtime as Required

• Hands –on ability to work in a fast-pace, team-oriented distribution center environment. Required to work independently and with limited supervision. Preferences

• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of inventory processes
• PreviousMaterial Handling experience (fork lift experience preferred)

• This is a fully onsite role requiring the ability to stand or walk for the duration of the shift in a fast-paced environment, with frequent bending and stooping. The role also requires regularly lifting up to 35 pounds unassisted and working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
