Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines is seeking an Operations Supervisor in Crest Hill, Illinois. In this role, you will plan and coordinate freight movement, ensure efficient operations, and manage personnel. The position requires a strong understanding of the LTL/Transportation industry and experience managing drivers and dockworkers. You will oversee communication, training, and safety practices in a professional environment. The position offers a competitive salary of $70,000 per year along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the LTL/Transportation Industry.
• Has managed Drivers and Dockworkers.
• Knowledge of the surrounding geographical area to the Service Center.

Responsibilities

• Compile production and service records and measure conformance to standards.
• Inspect and measure personnel performance to improve Service Center operations.
• Review logs and reports to ascertain scheduling and production requirements.
• Set up appointment freight deliveries.
• Maintain excellent communication with customers.
• Assist with training and evaluating personnel performance.
• Recruit, qualify, interview, hire, train, and develop Service Center personnel.
• Ensure Service Center premises are protected and maintained.
• Assist in investigating and reporting accidents or discrepancies.
• Understand and apply company safety practices.
• Handle special assignments as directed.
