Job summary

XPO is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor to lead and optimize daily freight activities at our facility in the United States. The role requires strong leadership of hourly staff, effective workload management, and strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate has 2 years of warehouse or logistics experience, knowledge of LTL and DOT regulations, and flexibility to work a variety of shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in a warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of the LTL industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules and regulations.
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving department demands.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff across various operations and be primary contact for workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage, payroll and admin functions.
• Plan hourly schedules to meet daily operations goals and lower costs.
• Enforce FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies and laws.
• Ensure timely and damage-free customer freight processing, handling, loading and delivery.
• Coach and develop employees, conduct new-hire evaluations, issue corrective actions when needed.
• Direct a team to consistently meet or exceed productivity goals.
• Make recommendations on hiring, suspension and termination.
• Present action plans to improve load average and model compliance.
• Participate in safety and engagement committees; train on safety rules.
• Maintain organization for safety and productivity; inspect tools/equipment.
