Job summary

XPO is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor to lead the freight operations team in a fast-paced environment. You will supervise staff, implement efficient procedures and ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery of customer freight.

The role requires strong leadership, the ability to coordinate across shifts, and adherence to DOT and safety regulations while driving operational efficiency and cost containment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment
• Knowledge of LTL, hazmat regulations and DOT rules
• Willing to work days, evenings, nights and weekends

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving department demands
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks
• Supervise hourly staff across operations and act as primary point of contact for workplace concerns
• Ensure production goals are met by managing tonnage, payroll and admin functions
• Plan hourly employee schedules to meet daily operations goals and lower costs
• Enforce all company, FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies and laws
• Train employees on safety rules and processes
• Monitor and maintain organization within the shift for safety and productivity
• Conduct daily staff meetings and communicate policy updates to team members
