Job summary

Akima is seeking a dynamic shipping and receiving clerk for the Commercial Freight Office on Joint Base Lewis McChord. The clerk will process and document freight for shipment using automated systems and coordinate with customers to obtain necessary information for shipping documents.

The role requires handling duties, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, and maintaining accurate records while resolving issues and delays to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen required.
• High School Diploma or GED certificate.
• Ability to pass a drug screening.
• Background investigation required.
• Must obtain DoD CAC.

Responsibilities

• Process and document freight for shipment using automated systems.
• Coordinate with customers to obtain information for shipping documents.
• Track and report shipments; provide status updates to customers.
• Direct and coordinate activities of others handling goods for shipment or receipt.
• Verify orders against documents; ensure proper packaging and labeling for transport.
