Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers for loading. Starting rate is $21.16 per hour and shifts include 1700-2100 and 0500-1000.

Responsibilities include operating material handling equipment, verifying freight docs, securing cargo, and assisting customers as needed. Minimum age is 18 with warehousing experience preferred; high school diploma or equivalent desired.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Warehouse/freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform repetitive motions.
• Basic arithmetic and documentation skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws/regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
