Summary

The Freight Coordinator position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, “to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, the Freight Coordinator performs a variety of operational tasks assigned by store management, such as receiving and unpacking daily shipments, shipping merchandise, backroom maintenance, and routine cleaning of facilities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Sales Generation and Guest Service
  • Compare and verify merchandise invoices to items received to ensure shipments are correct.
  • Send alterations, layaways, or special orders to Guests via FedEx.
  • Check accuracy of freight packing slips and transfer slips.
  • Double-check that all transfers have been processed through the register and that items match what you are shipping out.
  • Fold and place items in appropriate boxes for proper presentation when shipping to Guests and other stores.
Visual Merchandise Management
  • Remove pins and plastic from shipped merchandise.
  • Place Sensormatic tags on garments in designated areas.
  • Hang, fold, and steam merchandise for the sales floor.
  • Assist with projects on the floor as needed.
Operations
  • Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) software.
  • Receive freight and store transfers through the register.
  • Handle store mail discrepancies and maintain related paperwork.
  • Recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to handle these situations.
  • Create FedEx labels and sort packages by transit time.
  • Process recalls and Return to Vendors (RTVs) weekly.
  • Keep supplies organized and stocked.
  • Organize fixtures and shelving.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area.
  • Communicate policy violations confidentially.
  • Provide feedback on merchandise handling concerns.
  • Adhere to the Buckle’s Code of Ethics and policies.
  • Perform duties with high customer service standards and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience

No prior experience or training required.

Additional Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, walk, handle, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk. Occasionally sit. Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a retail store setting with moderate noise levels.
