Country Fresh in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Freezer Supervisor to lead warehouse, freezer, and cooler operations. You will oversee shipping, receiving, inventory, and material handling, collaborating with production, sales, and customer service to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in business administration, supply chain and logistics, or related curriculum.
• 2–5 years of experience in warehouse, cooler, distribution, production, logistics, or related environment with leadership.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a freezer environment with temperatures reaching 20°F below zero.
• Certification and/or License may be required during employment.

Job description

We are seeking a Freezer Supervisor to join our team at the Country Fresh plant in Grand Rapids, MI. In this role, you will lead warehouse, freezer, and cooler operations, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of products throughout the facility. You will oversee daily shipping, receiving, inventory, and material handling activities, collaborate closely with production, sales, and customer service teams to meet customer needs, and foster a culture of accountability, food safety, quality, and operational excellence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Schedule, assign and monitor work, and provide clear direction to warehouse/cooler employees to meet the needs of the business. Coordinate the work efforts of employees to ensure that all customer expectations, both internal and external, are satisfied, accurate and on time.
• Assist with design and implementation of work methods and operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
• Maintain and reconcile inventories; ensure month-end inventories are finished accurately and in a timely manner.
• Determine needed quantities of packaging, ingredients, finished products, etc., and communicate those needs to the appropriate area.
• Follow up on delivery to ensure efficient stock of materials for plant or location success.
• Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment and ensure condition of warehouse meets all regulatory and safety standards.
• Work effectively with union and/or non-union employees to promote positive and productive working relationships. Understand and effectively apply work rules, union contract provisions if applicable, and employment policies.
• Promote a team environment; excel in the selection, coaching, developing, engagement and retainment of a team of employees.
• Actively promote safe work behaviors and hold self and direct reports accountable for following safety rules and regulations. Conduct accident/injury investigations and send reports of injury to HR in a timely manner to meet reporting standards. May coordinate and/or facilitate plant safety meetings, training, and incentive programs.
• Proactively look for ways to increase operational efficiency and contain costs. Review work processes; recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product or service; and suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency. Think creatively and abstractly to develop alternative possibilities to drive improvement.

• Undergraduate degree in business administration, supply chain and logistics, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education).
• 2 to 5 years of experience in a warehouse, cooler, distribution, production, logistics, or related environment coupled with demonstrated leadership attributes or team lead experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a freezer environment with temperatures reaching 20 degrees below zero.
• Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment
