Job summary

Tarrant County College is seeking a highway incident management supervisor to respond to accidents on highway systems, analyze situations, and plan actions to remove incidents. You will assist motorists and operate the incident response vehicle per PMI policies, ensuring a safe environment for employees and the public.

The role emphasizes supervision, training, equipment maintenance, reporting, and collaboration with senior staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical training in transportation management, traffic or incident management, engineering, highway construction, or automobile repair preferred.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
• Valid driver's license required, Class C or above.
• Freeway Incident Management / First Responder Certification within six (6) months of hire.
• Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
• Ability to prepare official documents and reports.
• Working knowledge of department policies and handbooks.
• Ability to work with diverse population groups.

Responsibilities

• Supervise employees, evaluate performance, and manage schedules.
• Lead freeway incident management activities and after-action reviews.
• Responsible for equipment repair and maintenance.
• Implement and facilitate new hire and employee training programs.
• Prepare administrative reports and recordkeeping; verify accuracy.
• Notify senior managers of serious incidents and extraordinary happenings.
• Attend required training and perform other duties as assigned.
