Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. seeks a Director of Free Standing Emergency Department to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight in a fast-paced setting.

You will guide clinical practice, staffing, education, and departmental culture to ensure high-quality patient-centered care while maintaining regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with medical and nursing leadership to improve throughput, care coordination, and patient satisfaction, and you will lead disaster preparedness

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required.
• Seven (7) or more years of direct experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree is acceptable.
• Master's Degree is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in a closely related field with Bachelor's degree required.
• 3-5 years of previous leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Emergency Department, ensuring delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Collaborates with medical staff, nursing leadership, and ancillary departments to improve care coordination, throughput, and patient experience.
• Monitors departmental performance metrics and implements improvement strategies.
• Ensures readiness for regulatory, accreditation, and compliance requirements (Joint Commission, CMS, state agencies).
• Directs emergency preparedness planning and disaster response coordination.
• Responds to patient care concerns and operational disruptions with effective resolution.
