Qualifications

• 5+ years of broadcast or cable news experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong journalism foundation and proven television production background, including news judgment, rundown management, and concise broadcast writing.
• Prior live control room experience, including serving as a Line Producer.

Responsibilities

• Develop, research, write, produce, and edit compelling news segments for a national audience.
• Collaborate with national assignment editors, reporters, writers, and executive producers while making editorial and content decisions in accordance with CBS guidelines and standards.
• Lead in the control room with calm, confidence, and adaptability, especially during breaking news and high‑pressure moments.
• Oversee editing, script writing and creation of news graphics.
• Time programs and segments with a good sense of pacing, power and urgency.
• Uphold impeccable grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content produced while ensuring an active, conversational style of writing.
• Exhibit strong editorial judgment, effective communication, and critical thinking skills.

Position will be covered under the WGAE streaming agreement and is based at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York.

Hiring Salary Range: $102,035 - 102,035.
