Job summary

SYPartners in New York City seeks a Freelance Studio Designer to be hands-on with physical production and live event execution. You will work in our NYC office and travel to client sites to deliver exceptional experiences, print production, and technical event support.

You should bring 2+ years of hands-on production, comfort with 2D/3D, and strong skills in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Docs, and PowerPoint. This role is freelance with regular on-site presence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in an agency, in-house, or freelance role.
• Based in or near New York City and able to work at SYP’s office with travel to client sites.
• Strong hands-on production skills with maker tools (3D printers, laser cutters, etc.).
• Fluency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Docs, and PowerPoint.
• Technical AV knowledge and live events experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Execute print and physical production: printing (small + large format), trimming, bookbinding, mounting, prototyping, laser cutting, 3D printing, and environmental builds.
• Scrub, prep, and finalize files for print and on-screen presentations.
• Support full event execution: location assessment, setup, technical production, and break-down for client experiences.
• Manage AV and technical elements onsite: slideshows, audio/video editing, lighting, voting systems, live meeting support.
• Coordinate with vendors for printing and fabrication as needed.
• Partner with Program Managers and designers to plan schedules and contingencies.
• Deliver high-quality physical and digital assets for immersive client experiences.
• Photo-document events and maintain server/cloud storage organization.
• Keep the studio orderly and procure supplies; coordinate repairs as needed.
