Job summary

Rag & Bone seeks a freelance Senior Technical Designer with deep denim expertise to support fit, construction, and quality for our denim line. You will engage at a senior level, ensuring technical standards are met and collaborating with design, merchandising, sourcing, and factories from concept through bulk production.

This role emphasizes hands-on technical work: creating fit blocks, grading rules, tech packs, and leading live-model fit sessions to set fit intent.

Qualifications

6-8+ years of technical design experience with denim/bottoms.
Expert knowledge of denim construction and wash processes.
Experience leading fit sessions and final fit decisions.
Strong pattern-making and grading skills.

Responsibilities

Support technical design team during engagement: create fit blocks, grading rules, construction standards, and spec architecture across the assigned denim assortment.
Partner with design team to create tech packs for new seasonal styles.
Hold fit sessions on live models, making final fit calls and setting fit intent for the category.
Partner with wash/laundry teams and vendors to solve shrinkage, distortion, and wash-to-wash consistency; troubleshoot root-cause issues.
Work closely with in house patternmakers and factories, ensuring fit accuracy.
