24 Seven in New York is seeking a Freelance Denim Technical Designer onsite to partner with Design, Product Development and Patternmaking. Translate concepts into production-ready tech packs across multiple denim categories.

Ideal candidates bring strong pattern and garment-construction knowledge, experience in fit sessions, and proficiency with Illustrator and PLM to update tech packs quickly in a fast-paced fashion environment.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of patterns, including pattern shapes, grading, fit implications, and alterations.
Experience capturing and organizing fit comments and notes during fittings.
Denim garment-construction knowledge, including seams, finishes, and stitch types.
Ability to interpret design intent and translate it into technical direction.
Proficiency with Illustrator and PLM for tech pack updates.

Responsibilities

Participate in fit sessions and capture detailed fit comments, measurements, and construction notes in real time.
Evaluate garment fit and balance on live models or forms, communicating pattern and construction adjustments.
Update and maintain detailed tech packs, including measurements, construction details, BOMs, and specifications.
Partner with Patternmaking and Product Development to ensure pattern changes align with fit direction and brand standards.
Review prototypes and SMS samples for construction quality, stitch details, finishing, and consistency with approved specifications.
Communicate fit and construction updates clearly across internal teams.
Troubleshoot construction and pattern issues to improve fit, consistency, and cost efficiency.
