We’re looking for a Freelance Post Production Supervisor to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be ambitious, detail-oriented, and creative. This role is full-time, requires a hybrid work schedule, and is only available in Los Angeles.

Overview


The Post Production Supervisor is a critical member of the Day One Integrated Production team. This role oversees the post-production process across all projects and ensures the seamless delivery of high-quality creative work. You’ll be responsible for managing timelines, budgets, and talent across internal teams and external vendors to deliver video content that meets client needs and agency standards.

As a key point of contact, you will lead communication between editors, producers, and external vendors while overseeing the workflow, ensuring legal and technical standards are met, and that all deliverables are client-ready. Your attention to detail, leadership, and creative problem-solving will help guide the success of a wide range of content from social-first edits to high-end brand campaigns.



Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the post-production process from offline through final delivery for video content across various platforms
  • Own all aspects of post scheduling and budget tracking, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope
  • Partner closely with Producers, Integrated Producers, and Studio to align on timelines and creative intent
  • Manage freelance editors, colorists, sound mixers, and motion designers; onboard new vendors and oversee contracts and payments
  • Troubleshoot post-production issues including missing assets, editorial notes, or VFX problems to keep projects on track
  • Maintain consistent communication with all internal and external stakeholders regarding progress, timelines, and feedback loops
  • Supervise quality control of all assets, ensuring creative and technical standards are met across final deliverables
  • Set up and evolve scalable post workflows and systems, including file management, backups, and delivery specs
  • Support the growth of the post team, including hiring, mentoring, and developing junior post team members
  • Manage usage, licensing, and legal review processes in conjunction with Brand and Business Affairs


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in post-production, with demonstrated experience managing edits for agencies, brands, or entertainment
  • Strong working knowledge of editing software (Adobe Premiere, After Effects), audio mixing, color correction, and VFX pipelines
  • Proven experience managing budgets and timelines for multiple concurrent video projects
  • Deep understanding of post workflows, media management, and delivery formats across broadcast, digital, and social
  • Strong leadership and team management skills; ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff
  • Effective communicator who can translate technical post-production information into actionable steps for non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and legal compliance for final asset delivery
  • Highly organized and proactive with strong attention to detail

Compensation

The Company is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The hourly compensation range for this role is $60-$65. Please note that the compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for Los Angeles based hires only and is provided pursuant to the applicable law. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as candidates' relevant work experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
