LNP Media Group in Lancaster, PA is seeking freelance correspondents to report on local school districts and government within the Lancaster metropolitan area. You'll attend meetings, write concise briefs, and request public records as an independent contractor.

Ideal candidates have strong writing skills, AP style knowledge, and the ability to cover diverse communities with fairness and on deadline. Evening meetings are common, and a journalism degree or portfolio is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing skills and ability to report news fairly and accurately on deadline.
• Good grasp of AP style.
• Coverage should reflect the diversity of cultures in Lancaster County.
• Honesty, integrity and respect with all sources.
• Bachelor’s degree and news writing experience preferred; strong portfolios considered.
• Live within a 30-minute drive of coverage area.

Responsabilités

• Attend municipal and school board meetings (evenings).
