Job summary

Mercury is hiring a Product Manager for Fraud to lead risk strategy across payment systems and customer accounts. You’ll shape the roadmap, balancing seamless user experience with robust fraud controls, while partnering with data science and risk teams to deploy ML models and automated decisioning.

You will design user journeys with appropriate friction, build scalable risk tooling, and drive metrics on risk effectiveness, operations, and customer impact across Mercury’s fintech platform.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product management experience in fraud or risk within banking or fintech environments.
• Strong customer empathy and understanding of risk friction impact on UX, growth and retention.
• Experience with complex automated decisioning systems, rules, ML models, real-time data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Shape the strategy and roadmap for fraud prevention across your area, from account integrity or money movement to decisions, controls, and experiences that protect customers.
• Design and execute a strategic vision to mitigate fraud and improve risk experience, including holds, limit structures, step-up verification, and friction points.
• Craft user journeys that apply friction based on risk signals while minimizing disruption to good users.
• Build tooling to enable risk and support teams to manage case volume, exceptions, and high-touch cases.
• Partner with data science to develop, deploy, and improve ML models.
