Job summary

Mercury is seeking a Product Manager for Fraud to design and lead risk and fraud prevention initiatives across our platform. You will shape strategy and roadmaps, partner with data science to deploy ML models, and craft user journeys that balance security with a seamless customer experience.

You will work with cross-functional teams to build tools for risk and support, measure impact, and continuously improve fraud controls.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in product management within fraud or risk in fintech environments.
• Deep customer empathy and understanding of how risk friction impacts user experience, growth and retention.
• Experience with complex automated decisioning systems, rules, ML models, real-time data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Shape the strategy and roadmap for fraud prevention across your area, from account integrity or money movement to the decisions, controls, and experiences that protect customers.
• Design and execute on the strategic vision to mitigate fraud and improve risk experience at Mercury - including holds, limit structures, step-up verification, and related friction points
• Craft user journeys that apply appropriate friction based on risk signals while minimizing disruption to good users
• Build operational and platform tooling to enable our risk and support teams to efficiently manage case volume, exceptions and high-touch cases
• Partner with data science to develop, deploy, and continuously improve ML models
• Establish and track metrics that measure both risk effectiveness, operational, and customer experience impact
• Support the development of Mercury's risk capabilities to scale across our expanding product suite
