Job summary

Coinflow is seeking a hands-on Head of Fraud to build our fraud function from the ground up in Chicago. You will own tooling, investigations workflow, alert triage, and bank-partner reporting to mitigate risk and protect revenue.

You will shape SOPs, triage alerts, and lead deep-dive investigations into merchant and user fraud, while partnering with the BSA/AML Officer, Data Science, and Risk & Compliance leadership to drive remediation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years in chargeback and fraud prevention within payments or fintech.
• Hands-on, builder mindset capable of creating tooling and workflows.
• Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work with sponsor banks and Card Networks.

Responsibilities

• Build and mature the fraud function, including tooling and investigations workflow.
• Define SOPs, escalation paths, and decision frameworks.
• Monitor alerts, investigate patterns, and perform deep-dive investigations.
• Drive remediation and root-cause analysis for fraud losses.
• Assess exposure across merchant and user fraud vectors.
• Engage bank partners, prepare RFIs, and present metrics.
• Lead and mentor analysts as the team grows.
