Job summary

HACLA is seeking a lead Fraud Investigator to supervise and guide a team of investigators in detecting and addressing fraud related to housing programs. The role requires leading field investigations, interviewing witnesses, and presenting evidence for administrative actions or prosecutions.

Qualified candidates will have significant investigative experience (5+ years) with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity. A Certified Fraud Examiner is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and five (5) years professional investigative experience, with at least two (2) years in lead or supervisory role.
• Experience supervising investigators or clerical staff preferred.
• Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and review investigations and may oversee clerical staff.
• Oversee investigations of irregularities, fraud, collusion, or improprieties involving Authority programs.
• Supervise investigations of violations of legislation and regulations applicable to HACLA programs.
• Lead field investigations, interview suspects, witnesses, and gather evidence.
• Assist in staff selection and training; review subordinates' reports for completeness and accuracy.
• Collect, analyze, and prepare factual information and statistical reports; may testify in court.
