Job summary

Ether is hiring a Fraud Engineer to own the fraud stack for Ether.fi’s campaigns and card program. You’ll spot anomalies, reverse-engineer campaigns, and build systems that stay ahead of sophisticated fraudsters. You’ll work closely with Engineering, CX, and compliance to protect users and the company’s multi-billion-dollar products.

Even if you are not an experienced programmer, you are welcome if you know or are willing to learn how to code with the modern AI agents setup.

Qualifications

• Own real-time fraud monitoring, alerting, and mitigation systems.
• Hunt emerging threats and attacker patterns within the Ether.fi ecosystem.
• Develop and tune fraud rules, behavioral signals, and scoring logic.
• Build internal tools, dashboards, and scripts to boost team effectiveness.
• Define scalable fraud strategy and operational playbooks.

Responsibilities

• Own real-time fraud monitoring, alerting, and automated mitigation systems.
• Hunt emerging threats: cashback farming, card testing, merchant abuse, friendly fraud, money laundering.
• Develop and tune advanced fraud rules, behavioral signals, and scoring logic.
• Work on internal tools, dashboards, and scripts that make the team dramatically more effective.
• Define fraud strategy and operational playbooks that scale with the business.
• Active communication with cross-teams and external partners to mitigate fraud risks.
