Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in a franchise office. You will handle bookkeeping, payroll, and client communication, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.

The role requires 1–3 years of experience, knowledge of GAAP, and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion. A National bookkeeping and payroll certification is preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
